With the support of Zimele, the Zimele women have organized after-school programs, providing children in their communities with a fun and safe environment to enjoy themselves after school hours. In the past, these programs have focused on interest-based activities such as soccer and baking. More recently, however, the Zimele women have identified a growing need for stronger academic support for their children. Developing a curriculum has been challenging, as many of these women have not had access to formal education themselves. To address this, our organization is developing a curriculum that they can effectively implement.
